Board meeting of the IFTF "Eurasia"

On the 26 September2013 inthe conference hall of Hotel Radisson Blu in Kiev a regular meeting of the Board, a branch of the International Fur Trade Federation IFTF "Eurasia" was held, which was attended by General Director of the IFTF Mark  Oaten, directors of  IFTF departments and representatives of the countries belonging to the members of the board of Eurasia (Russia, Ukraine , Kazakhstan, Turkey).

The implementation of planned activities ofEurasiabranch in 2013 was discussed at the meeting, and issues relating to future development plans of the region. The decision was made to hold a series of activities aimed at the development of the fur complex in the countries included in the IFTF Eurasia, such as holding a competition for young designers in Moscow in April 2013, marketing researches of the industry conditions in Eurasia, in December2013 inIstanbul to hold a workshop on consolidation of the customs tariff legislation in the countries of Eurasia. 

It was decided to pay more attention to cooperation with media, i.e. to involve media professionals, leading fur experts and representatives of the youth movement of IFTF Fur Futures into objective coverage of the development of the fur industry. The ideas of holding seminars in the field of trade, fashion and manufacture in the region ofEurasiawere approved.

           After the board meeting the delegation took part in the opening ceremony of the exhibition Fur ExpoUkraine. The leading fur companies ofUkraineas well asRussia,Spain,Italy,Canada,Denmark,Turkey,Greece, theNetherlandsand theUnited Statesrepresented their exposures.

On the same day there was a meeting with the Deputy Minister of the Ministry of Agriculture and Food of Ukraine regarding the development of the fur industry inUkraineand interactions with the International Fur Federation.

Summing up the meetings it's safe to say that they have gone successfully and effectively. There weren’t any disagreements about making decisions that shows cohesion and organization of the fur industry representatives within the Eurasian region IFTF.
